Within the first year of owning the refrigerator we had three service calls and continued to have fluctuating temperatures. Now seven years later with the compressor being still under warranty the refrigerator wont cool at all. LG cannot find anyone to fix it. They said I can try to find someone. No one will touch it. One repair company said they get 3-4 calls a day from people having LG cooling issues. If you want a reliable refrigerator that will last more than 7 years do not by LG. Great looking product but it wont last long and is disposable when no one can fix it.

We were told by the sales lady that this was the most popular refrigerator among the employees at Pieratts in Lexington. The linear compressor went out in the first year but was still under warrantee. This is now the third time the refrigerator has frosted up and we have had to empty everything to manually defrost it. The last time a month ago the area under the crispers developed ice. Now we have ice again. Im finding online that this is a common problem because the drain tube behind the back panel either freezes or gets plugged. We have had to replace three crisper drawers either because various parts break the front comes loose or rollers break off. Presently another one has a roller broken off in the back. While unscrewing the back panel last night to get to the drain tube I discovered that one of the screw holes is broken so that the screw is holding nothing. In 48 years of marriage we have never had these kind of issues. We are not hard on equipment. This refrigerator is garbage IMO. LG cannot ever sell me anything.

I bought an LG French door counter depth fridge when we remodeled our kitchen three years ago and the thing died completely overnight three weeks ago. I had to toss out hundreds of dollars worth of food. I will say LG customer service was wonderful and the compressor was under warranty but it was nearly 2 weeks before an LG repairman could get here. We actually bought a dorm fridge to tide us over.

Failed Ice Maker

I bought this model of the LG Refrigerator about 6 years ago. The water dispenser and ice maker began acting up and freezing. This caused the ice maker to stop working and the water to randomly shoot out without anyone touching it. Had 3 different companies come out to fix but they failed. Eventually contacted LG directly they ordered a new ice maker assembly installed it and since then it has worked like a charm. We have always liked this refrigerator/freezer unit and its now working like it did the day we bought it. Nice unit just make sure you get a service company that understands how to work on the LG brand.

I have had technicians out like 5 times to have it repaired. this last time they are going to change out the dryer and compressor with all related parts once again it was not cooling. The parts are under warranty but labor is not. On one of the times they were out they added coolant to the compressor this technician said they should have replaced it then. would have been nice at that time all would have been under warranty.

I purchased this fridge because I liked the reviews on it. The ice maker has died a couple times the compressor died 6 months after the warranty expired. We lost all our food and it took 2+ weeks to get it fixed. 2 years later the compressor as well as other problems has left us with out a fridge/freezer AGAIN And all of our food had to be tossed Our serviceman called LG on speaker so I could hear them and the LG customer service yelled at the serviceman I was thoroughly appalled at what I had just heard I just want my 7 YO fridge fixed and to have no more problems with it

Faculty compressor creates nightmare

Was fine for a couple of years but then the sealed system including a known faculty compressor had to be replaced as the refrigerator and freezer couldnt stay cold. Had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food. After an LG technician nice guy btw spent two days working on it it seemed fine though noisier. After two months the refrigerator began having trouble getting below 45 degrees and freezer at about 20. I tried to get an LG technician again but after waiting over a week LG arranged for a third party warranty service company. Now waiting another week for them to come. Loosing food again hurts financially. So all around its been terrible. Not confident theyll fix it for real. We bought the entire LG line for our kitchen and I generally like the products but this fridge is a lemon Heres a pic of the original faulty compressor with Id number.

All started to cool down A month later we noiced that the unit was not meeting the set temperatures on the door. Called the tech and scheduled him to come out didnt make it COVID. This is our second lg refrigerator slow learner I guess we had our first and it lasted two years before it needed a complete rebuild. Thank goodness we got the extended warranty from Home Depot. Even so it took four months for the repair. We did get a free mini fridge and reimbursement for the food loss. So we move and my wife likes the fridge so much we wanted to get the same lg French door model. Lightning strikes twice three years after we purchased it at the Home Depot with the extended warranty the new refrigerator goes down. This time it only takes two weeks for a total rebuild compressor condenser and ice maker repair. Now we are having a problem with our ice maker. Ive been on the phone with the Home Depot four times and lg four times over a four week period still no appointments for the repair. Supposedly they are going to call the week with an update. Dont hold your breath. If Im reading it right there is a class action law suit in California that may be going nationwide for compressor failures I will be calling again this week.

The fridge is nice. Easy to use counter depth and normally works just fine. However the compressor first died about 3 years into ownership. Thankfully we had bought an extended warranty which covered everything. Then 2 years later the compressor died again LG has a 10 year warranty on the compressors so they replaced the compressor and we paid for labor. So kudos to LG for sticking by their products but there is no way that a fridge should go through 2 very expensive compressors in 5 years. Were going to switch out this fridge before year 7. Bottom line - find a different fridge to buy.

good distribution of space and a nice water/ice dispenser. But it suffers from what seems to be a LG unique issue i.e. the compressor crapping out after a few years less than 6 in our case. So even if LG pays for the parts well be out of a few hundreds after repair not counting not having a fridge for a while . I would not recommend the product until this compressor issue is addressed I would otherwise.

Loved the refrigerator/freezer until it completely stopped cooling one day after 3.5 yrs of use Called LG Customer Service who confirmed 5yr Warranty on coolant workings. After LG inability to find a Service Technician in our area Buffalo NY and my sending them a copy of proof of purchase and manufactures door sticker per their directions they have bumped up our problem to the next level and are considering total replacement of the refrigerator. Appreciate their customer service effort to date but await timely resolution. Going without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks now has grown old We have had good results with other LG products currently and in the past. This is disappointing.

I love my LG French Door Refrigerator. Ive always wanted a fridge with a bottom freezer and deil drawer and when the opportunity to renovate my kitchen became a reality I did not hesitate to include a French door fridge in the appliance package. The ice maker and door water/ice dispenser are so convenient the interior capacity is enormous in spite of the fact that the fridge is only counter-depth and it is easy to reach anything on the shelves.The bottom freezer is a winner with its large capacity and design and the ability to access anything easily is especially important for me. In all the time I have had my LG fridge there has only been one minor issue recently of water accumulating beneath the slide n glide deli drawer every 3-4 days but that was easily remedied by Suzor electric who determined that the water line was the culprit. Indeed it was and after a thorough cleaning the fridge is back to its normal purring and typical fridge sounds. It was one of the best appliance purchases I made and wouldnt hesitate to replace it with another LG French door refrigerator when this one is no longer serviceable.

Called LG and they said its out of warranty but would fix it one time only. Brought someone and they fixed it. Three more years go by and the same issue as the fridge does not cool. Lost all my food a 2nd time. I tried to chat with someone from LG and after wasting an hour of my time they said you need to call a out of warranty specialist. So they can tell me its out of warranty and I have to pay?? I will never buy another LG fridge and I mean that because the most important part of a fridge keeping things cold wants to break every 3 years.

The Linear compressor failed multiple times and so the fridge would stop cooling. LG tech repaired multiple times and it kept breaking. Customer service was a massive hassle and took a lot of time. We still have not been compensated/nor have they addressed the ice that melted and leaked on our floor when fridge stopped cooling. To cap things off the water dispenser flooded our kitchen. Any compensation is significantly less than food loss hassle and refrigerator cost
